A hot lunch is delivered to home-bound clients in Alachua County. Each meal meets one-third of the RDA for the senior age group and the nutritional needs of the homebound senior. An added benefit to home meal deliveries is the personal contact provided by the volunteer or employee who delivers the meal.
Al’z Place provides care for people age 18+ with Alzheimer’s disease or severe memory impairment. The adult program is available five days per week, Eight hours per day. Therapeutic activities include physical exercise; active and quiet games; reminiscence; validation therapy; doll therapy; and other failure-free activities. Lunch and two snacks per day are provided.
ElderCare of Alachua County offers congregate meal sites and home-delivered meals for seniors. Hot lunch is served at six congregate meal sites throughout Alachua County. Each meal meets one-third of the required daily allowance (RDA) for the senior age group.
